Depends: Cough from allergies may be related to post nasal drip or from obstruction of the airways as in asthma. Nasal symptoms of allergies are best treated with topical nasal steroid sprays. Asthma is best treated with quick relief bronchodilator inhaler and if persistent asthma with inhaled cortisone type inhalers. First need to identify if cough trigger and the treat nose, lungs or both!
