A member asked:

10m baby has only had 1 cold and 1 allergy cough; ped is happy but now is suggesting an oral immunostimulant to prevent winter rtis. is that ok?

Don't think so: Our immune systems are in a complex state of balance, and are self-regulating. Very bad things happen when our immune systems are too active or don't act enough. That means things that claim "boost your immune system" or "stimulate your immune system," WITHOUT specific targets such as the measles virus or the whooping cough bacteria, most likely don't work or would be scary if they did work.
