Follow-up: I'd check your serum iron and iron-binding capacity maybe ferritin and do a good full physical. Low RBC / Hct / Hgb, low-normal MCV makes me think of iron deficiency or thalassemia minor. I'd check your old labwork for the latter -- if you've got it, it's good for your family to know. If you're mildly iron-deficient, I'd look hard for the cause.
