Could somebody be born with the oral herpes virus but not show signs until older?

Hard to prove: Herpes is such a common viral infection that has an initial infection and then lays dormant until you are stressed, tired, too much sun.....Initial infection often occurs to toddlers, or you can pick it up later. If you have it, it's yours whether you got it from your momma, grilfriend, etc. Do you know anybody that gets cold sores, they are your possible sources.
