Yes: In general women develop cardiovascular dz later in life than men but the prevalence is the same. Also mortality in acute coronary syndrome is higher in women. Few women realized that cardiovascular dz is the leading cause of death in women. Aggressive risk factor reduction is very important for secondary prevention and should reduced mortality and improved outcome.
