Viral : At this time your symptoms are consistent with an early viral upper respiratory tract infection and I feel you can take Tylenol, robitussin type cough syrup,rest, take in adequate fluids and if you have nasal congestion this can cause mild ear discomfort. Nasal decongestant spray would help. If symptoms worsen rather than gradually improve or an actual ear ache ensues, see MD
