Risk is low. No wait: Injections of 150 mgs of DepoProvera every 12 weeks are very effective contraceptive means of reducing your risk of getting pregnant . They have a very low failure rate for the vast majority of women. It is usually recommended to use condoms during the first month after your first injection ...and therefore you can “do that” now and whenever you and your partner are in the mood.
