How does one know?: Some people have those exact symptoms and are having angina, which can be chest pain due to not enough blood flow to the heart. It could be one's guardian angel telling her to get checked out (meaning calling one's primary care doctor now to ask how urgent the problem is). The safe thing to do is an EKG and evaluation. It might not be the heart, or it could be a massive heart attack next time.
