A member asked:

My son swallowed a magnate what should i do ?

Doctor can evaluate: If an older child swallows only one magnet, there is nothing inside his body to stick to the magnet, unless he also swallowed some steel objects. His primary care doctor can order an x-ray if uncertain. If a child swallows more than 1 magnet, or he is young or unreliable, then the magnets need to be quickly located and removed at a hospital, because they can seriously damage intestines.
