Bruises: Unexplained multiple bruises warrant some investigation as causes include increased capillary fragility, vasculitis, blood disorders like low platelets and coagulation deficiencies from liver disease or vitamin k deficiency or taking aspirin, NSAID anti-inflammatory medications or corticosteroid medications. A hematologist is best qualified to evaluate and advise you.

Several causes: There are several causes for spontaneous bruising. If you are on a blood thinner or aspirin containing product it is much easier to bruise with even minor pressure. Low platelets could also be a cause. I would recommend seeing your physician for a more detailed history and physical, and then labwork.
