I have thick white skin growing under my fingernails. what is the cause? what can i do about that?

Fungal?: If you have no other skin problem such as psoriasis, the problem is likely from a fungal infection (the same fungus causing athlete's foot). Topical antifungal agent may help but a prolonged course of antifungal agent by mouth may be needed to eradicate it. Laser Rx may help but I have not been too impressed with the results thus far.
