High powered field: When looking at urine there are basic standards for reporting. The general one is to count all the "X" you see on a slide where you put a concentrated drop of urine. The reading is at high rather than low power. They might move the slide & count 2 or 3 areas. We expect up to a few WBC's (pus cells) but 30-40 suggests a pus response to infection.
