Akathisia: Acute akathisia develops soon after taking antipsychotics and antidepressants and lasts less than 6 months. Chronic akathesia lasts more than 6 months. Hopefully you fall into the acute category. A psychiatrist is more knowledgeable about these medications and their side effects.
