It's your baby: Modern formulas are patterned after breastmilk and supply adequate nutrition. They can never replace some of the immune benefits or the closeness of skin/skin feeding. However, you must do what you need to do to survive the many demands of life/parenting. We encourage at least 6 mo of BF but you do what you must to get through each day.

Sounds ok: After a hormal baby has learned to be a good breastfeeder, it is ok to supplement breastfeeding with formula. However, supplementation is not needed unless the baby is very hungry after breastfeeding and cannot wait until the next breastfeeding; or unless the baby is not gaining weight properly. Also, if a woman does not have enough breast milk, using a trusted brand of formula is fine to do.
