A member asked:

My daughter was born with 2 extra chromosomes tested by gene dr. how does that work? no family history of it, maternal grandma had gene mutations.

Mistake: When conception occurs the chromosomes of the egg & sperm join together as matched pairs, one coming from each parent. To get extra chromosomes either the egg or the sperm had to bring over extra which they got during formation. Statistically the mistake occurs more often in the mother. It is usually a random event & risk increases with maternal age.
