A member asked:

How is it possible that pituitary disorder make you taller?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Growth hormone: The pituitary gland creates several hormones with different functions. Pituitary tumors may create excess hormone. If growth hormone (gh) is over-produced before the growth centers in the bones have gone dormant (in a manner of speaking), they will continue to grow and cause abnormal height. Excess gh in adulthood causes acromegaly (jaw and face growth, skin thickening, heart failure, etc.).
