I have discoloration on my big toe on the skin under my nail. should i be concerned?

Any Injury?: How long have you had this discoloration under your big toe? Did you injure your toe? What color is the discoloration? If you did have an injury, or were wearing tight shoes, this discoloration could be blood under the nail and basically you have bruised your toe, especially if the color under the nail is a black or dark red. If no trauma, you may have a fungus or you may need a biopsy done.
