Wait 4 days: Metronidazole interferes with breakdown of alcohol in the body. References stress waiting *at least* three days after your last metronidazole dose. I would suggest waiting longer simply because the side effects of the interaction are so violent and miserable - they include nausea, vomiting, headaches, flushing, and stomach cramps. I suggest waiting four days to be on the safe side.
