Is aspririn safe for children under the age of 10?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not used under 16: An epidemic of sudden onset liver failure and death in kids during the 1970's and 1980's was associated with aspirin use during the flu or chickenpox. The use of all aspirin containing products stopped for most conditions and this condition is no longer seen.It is now reserved for a narrow group of medical conditions. Having lost patients to this complication I would never recommend it.
