A member asked:

I have heard that long term balanitis will cause penile cancer, is that true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: The two most common risk factors for penile cancer is being uncircumcised and infection with the HPV virus. Inability to retract foreskin, tobacco use, age >60, poor penile hygiene, and chronic inflammation (balanitis) are additional modifiable risk factors. Important to determine the cause of recurring balanitis which is often an indication for circumcision.
