Hard to say: Without the kids age & a better description of the rash it is hard to speculate what/why it is there or how to treat. This forum doesn't allow us to see pictures. Causes range from yeast, to reactions to products to bacterial infections. The first thing I would try would be an antifungal cream 2x/d to see if it helps.
