Curable, but...: Folliculitis is tiny pustules where the hair follicles are. Typical antibiotics that cure staph and strep infections usually cure folliculitis. If a person is so unlucky to have antibiotic-resistant bacteria causing his folliculitis, he may need more than one antibiotic or a second course of antibiotics. Sometimes, a mild folliculitis (such as hot-tub folliculitis) goes away without antibiotics.
