Check expiry date: Many medicines can be used after expiry date x days or weeks depending on medications.

The dating system: The date of expiration is the last date for which the med is considered to be/perform at the listed dose/efficiency. Many meds retain some potency after that date but it degrades over time. The primary risk would be needing it to work in a pinch & not having it work due to weakness. Replace it when possible.
