A member asked:

On fludrocortisone and as suspected it lowers renin and angiotensin. does this matter? isnt the sole purpose of renin to make aldosterone anyways?

Florinef: Why were you given Florinef? if to assess Conns syndrome (adrenal adenoma) it would lower aldosterone in the normal patient but not the ill patient . In Addison's disease increases salt and volume. In POTS if low renin it may be a problem, but it does increase salt and water intake and sensitizes blood vessels to constriction helping BP. You also have to take salt . f/u /w doc
