Infected cyst?: The most likely cause of something like this probably is a sebacerous (epidermal) cyst, which has become infected. But you also may need testing for STDs depending on the details, sexual risks, etc. As for treatment, what you're doing is fine -- keep it loosely covered and let it drain, but don't try to speed it up by squeezing etc. Check back with your doc if not improving over next 2-3 days.
