Common problem: This often starts when a kid has a poop that hurts so they decide never to poop again. The delay makes sure the next poop is harder/bulkier and hurts again so they continue. A water retaining product (Miralax in USA) can be given daily to soften stools & kid can be rewarded for going daily.The duration is 2X as long as they have been retaining. Break the cycle now or it could continue for years.
