What are the causes of pain right above the back of yourr heel?

Achilles tendinitis: If the area of pain is just above your heel this is usually achilles paratendoniitis. The gliding sheath the achilles' tendon runs through can sometimes become inflamed.

Pain back of heel: Usually it's one of two things. It could be haglands deformity or a problem with achilles' tendon. Haglands will show on x-ray.
