Can doctors tell me what does paraneoplastic syndrome refer to?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cancer related hormo: Cancers like lung cancer can produce chemicals which have hormone like effects on the body. This can cause, for example the calcium level or blood counts to go up. These are called paraneoplastic syndromes, they usually go away once the tumor is removed or controlled with chemotherapy.
