Melatonin: is a natural sleep aid which is effective. Diphenhydramine is also effective, but can be habit forming, so should not be used for longer periods of time. Whatever medications are used, sleep hygiene is very important. Sleep in a dark room. No electronics or TV prior to bed, and no alcohol within 3 hours of sleeping. Hope this helps!
