A member asked:

Twice in 6 months pap smear shows cin1. i made hpv test for all groups, it came out negative. if cin1 comes from hpv and i am hpv negative why cin1?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It happens: While most cervical cancer can be traced to HPV infection, international studies do show some cases are HPV negative.Even when these tissues are subjected to the most extensive tests of numerous HPV types, they still show no evidence of prior HPV.It remains good clinical evidence that even the best vaccines may never eliminate cervical cancer risk. Pap smears will be around for a long time to come
