9 wks pregnant: At about 8-9 wks of pregnancy, the ovary stops making progesterone, which may cause cramps until the placenta takes over production of same. See an obstetric physician to be certain the pregnancy is progressing normally as soon as an appointment is available. If bleeding starts, go to an emergency room for an exam and treatment.
