A member asked:

Can you drink moderate amount of alcohol (one or two drinks a week) while taking dexilant, which is a proton pump inhibitor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Alcohol is toxic to living tissues (we humans happen to be a complex glob of living tissues), so avoid "moderate drinking." Moderate drinking is too much alcohol. Also, a person with stomach problems doesn't need any additional, voluntary toxins in her stomach or in her body. It's much safer to drink water or green tea, neither of which contain calories nor alcohol.
