Emg/ncv study: First you need the correct diagnosis.Nerve pain could be caused by compression of the nerves eg. Carpal tunnel syndrome. The treatment is different than neuropathy caused by diabetes.See your doctor , have the test.

What's the cause ?: Neuropathy simply means nerve injury. Peripheral nerves control many things including sensation, motor function and automatic things like sweating, goosebumps. Injury to peripheral nerves can occur from diabetes, trauma, and many other metabolic processes as well as many medicines. With so many causes, the key is to find out the cause and the a treatment can be identified.

Hand neuropathy: First, find the cause. Where is the problem? The ulnar nerve, the median nerve, the radial nerve? Problems with these nerves are addressed differently. Is it in all of the nerves? Second, treat pain, if needed. There are medical treatments for this, although they do not cure neuropathy. Third, expect a gradual recovery. Nerves heal slowly, but they can heal, as long as the problem is found
