I have a bp issue. i have been monitoring my bp for about two weeks with 152/97 being the highest. my mom died at 36 with bp issues, and two of her brothers at just over 50.i need to consult a dr but would prefer to see a specialist.where do i start

A cardiologist: may be your best "first step" specialist but in my opinion a General Internist or Family Medicine Specialist is perfectly adequate and furthermore can manage your blood pressure ALONG WITH YOUR ENTIRE medical status!! My opinion only Hope it's helpful! Dr Z
