just diagnosed with parotitis on left side. on antibiotics started today.now my pain is getting worse and hurts to chew.when do i need to go to the er?

Infection/pain: Antibiotics are the standard of care. For pain and swelling I suggest Advil or Aleve, assuming you are not alleric to these medications. This infection will take a minimum of 7-10 days to resolve and can take 2-3 weeks if severe.
