Hard to say: The smaller airways can contract & cause wheezing in asthma, during various infections or after airborne chemical exposure to name a few. Without a review of your history ,exposures, exam and x-ray it is hard to speculate on why you wheeze. You were at least looked at & not found to need hospitalization. I would see your regular doc during office hours and sort it out.
