Pain on BCP's: Severe menstrual cramps, and abdominal pain with abnormal vaginal bleeding may occur with failed contraception, i.e., pregnancy not in the uterus. To be certain, get a serum HCG test, and if positive, see your gyn provider immediately. If negative, ask your gyn provider about endometriosis, which can give the same symptoms and discomfort.
