Acne: I recommend using benzoyl peroxide 5 % on the white head or aspirin paste (325 mg aspirin crushed mixed with water) to dry it up. Please, do not try to pop it as it will likely get worse! May also try some warm compresses. Tylenol or Ibuprofen will help for the pain. If it gets larger, or the redness spreads, you may need oral antibiotics.

Yes: This is to be expected. Put warm compresses and let it run its course -- if you accidentally or purposefully pop it, no big deal. From now on, manage your acne like an adult. Topical benzoyl peroxide 5% or 10% 2x/day. If this does not clear you or you have it on your trunk, get with your physician. Your acne is not your fault but you have a duty to manage it. Best wishes.
