Opened dishwasher door and immediately got hot steam in face and eyes. probably for 4,5 seconds. did i damage eyes or breathe in gasses? harmful?

Not likely: The hot mist that comes out of a dishwasher could possibly cause minor burns of the face. If you are not having pain in the eyes or face, everything should be OK. As far as inhalants, so long as you as not having brathing problems, not to worry.
