A member asked:

Will garlic pills make birth control pills less effective?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nobody knows: A normal, healthy woman taking birth control pills probably won't have altered effectiveness of her birth control pills if she takes typical doses of over-the-counter garlic pills. However, garlic pills are not FDA approved medications, and so nobody knows for sure what is in a "garlic pill" nor what that pill does to the body. One should discuss with her doctor why she would need a "garlic pill."
