A member asked:

Have a 6month old baby has a fever used a digital meter the cheap ones you get at the pharmacy it measured around 38.6 to 39 degrees is it high?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Any true temperature reading at or above 38c is considered fever and 39 would be considered high. It would not be unusual for a 6mo to develop a fever with an illness. That temperature by itself does not tell us what thhe cause is or how much to be concerned. That would be based on other signs/symptoms that appear at the same time.
