A member asked:

Can a mother use medication while she is still breastfeeding ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on meds: A general rule is if we can give the med to the infant mom can use it while breastfeeding. Meds like creams or lotions applied to the skin are not a problem as long as they don't involve the feeding surfaces. Other meds must be assessed on an individual basis.
