Is it dangerous to not go to my doctor to see what my liquid wet stinky cheesesmelling red belly button is caused? can it be sepsis?

See MD: I would get this looked at, you probably have an infection there, possibly an abscess, if it is a recurring problem surgery might be needed. Sepsis could occur but would be a rare complication.
