A member asked:

My son is 21 weeks old. he got a flue and he also coughing. what can i give him?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

NO cough meds: Encouraged fluids (frequent intake and might be less amount than usual), humidifier use, steam from the bathroom, normal saline spray in nares and acetaminophen for fever. We discouraged use of cough suppressants or antitussives. Red flags to go to ER or see his doctor would be: fevers x 2 days, cough >3 weeks, poor fluid intake, decreased urine output (less <3-4 per day).
