Electroconvulsive th: Traditionally electroconvulsive therapy has been used to treat severe depression when other modalities have failed. Amnesia is a common side effect but generally improves. Some muscle aches may occur after the treatment. This treatment has also been used for OCD and schizophrenia. I haven't seen any significant permanent side effects but I've seen impressive results in severe depression.
