Period late: BTL ?: In women's late thirties, the delay in ovulation causes a delay in onset of a period. Wait another week and then obtain a serum HCG test to be certain you are not pregnant. The ovaries require more stimulation by estrogen to ovulate, thereby delaying the period. Btw, no surgical procedure is completely successful since tubes can re-canalize and pregnancy is "possible" but very unlikely.
