A member asked:

I have heavy bleeding and i have endometriosis. i was symptom free fo about 2yrs but the pain and heavy bleeding is back. concerned that i have cysts.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Endometriosis: Endometrial tissue can invade the uterine muscle, and cause difficulty in effective uterine contraction, so bleeding is much heavier, and with clots on occasion. This is called "adenomyosis", and can be very painful as well. Oral bcp's (if there are no contraindications) will stop ovarian production and control both endometriosis of the abdomen and the uterus.
