A member asked:

Would just like to find out if going on the pill is advisable to manage secondary amenorrhea, absent for almost two years. low hormones, tsh and fsh. in general i am quite anxious and travel a lot for work.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No periods: 2 years: Stress from any cause may suspend ovulation, which will result in amenorrhea. Anxiety and travel are certainly components of this kind of stress. Excess weight gain can also cause "polycystic ovarian syndrome: PCOS", and b/c of continued estrogen production by the ovary, it is best treated with oral contraceptives, if no other contraindications. See your gyn provider for advice.
