Heavy periods: Your gyn provider can prescribe a low dose estrogen-progesterone analog oral bcp, if there are no contraindications (history of blood clots, etc.) . This type of oral birth control, if taken punctually (within the hour of the previous day's pill) will reduce your bleeding significantly by inhibition of your ovarian function (less estrogen effect on the lining of the uterus).
