Too frequent period: An 18 day menstrual cycle is on the too short side that can lead to anemia over several months. If your thyroid gland is too active (hyperthyroidism), it can cause an increase in the severity of your period and shortening of the menstrual cycle. That is not the only cause, so see a GYN MD for an assessment.
